The roof of a physiotherapy hospital was damaged after unidentified men riding a motorcycle threw a locally manufactured bomb at it.
The hospital that came under attack is located in the Metroville area of SITE, within the limits of the SITE A-Section police station, on the early hours of Saturday. The hospital management said there were no patients admitted to the hospital at the time of blast, adding that only a few staffers were present and all of them escaped unharmed. The bomb hit the roof of the hospital and it collapsed, it added.
Following the explosion, law enforcers reached the site and cordoned off the area. Bomb disposal squad experts were also called, who said that the explosive was a tennis-ball bomb and had not contained any ball bearings.
SHO Rana Khushi said that the physiotherapy hospital is associated with the Fauji Foundation and that the doctors perform the physiotherapy of disabled people in the hospital.
