Targeted attacks: Five more missing men turn up dead

Since May, the police have found more than 20 bodies in gunny bags.

The police found on Sunday the bodies of four men, who were reported as missing, while five other people were injured in firing. They said that they had managed to identify three of the victims and two of the bodies were found in gunny bags.


Since May, more than 20 bodies have been found in the city. According to the police, most of the victims were tortured while others were shot in the head.

The body of a 42-year-old man identified as Abdul Ghani Soomro, was found in a gunny bag near Native Jetty Bridge, said the Baghdadi police. They said that he went missing on Saturday. SHO Ghulam Nabi Afridi said that Soomro, who ran an electronics shop in Saddar, had been kidnapped and tortured by unidentified men and they had slit his throat. He added that Soomro was from the Kutchi community and lived in Khadda Market, Lyari. “We do not know if he was killed over extortion or if he just became a part of the violence,” said the SHO. The body was taken to Civil Hospital. The police have registered a case against unidentified suspects and have started an investigation.

The bodies of two unidentified men were found within the jurisdiction of the Manghopir police station. They were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Initial investigation suggested that one of the men was from the Mehsud tribe and the other was from Afghanistan. West Zone SSP Amir Farooqi said that the men had been abducted and the suspects probably killed them immediately. He added that they were going to investigate the case further.

The body of a young man was found in a gunny bag near Dhobi Ghat, said the Pak Colony police. They claimed that the man was shot once in the head and his body was left near the Lyari River. SHO Abdul Moeed said that the body was at least a day or two old. The body was taken to Civil Hospital.

A man identified as Aslam Bhatti was shot at and injured in firing in Baldia Town, said the Saeedabad police. They claimed that the incident could have been related to the ongoing violence and target killing in the city. Bhatti was taken to Civil Hospital in a critical condition. Twenty-five-year-old Salman was shot at and injured near Drigh Road, said the Shah Faisal Colony police. They claimed that Salman was injured in an attempted robbery.

Waseem, 26, and 32-year-old Ameen were injured in firing, said the Kharadar police. A man identified as 24-year-old Tayyab was shot at in a firing incident near Gulberg. He was taken Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

In Malir, the Saudabad police found the body of an unidentified man. They claimed that the victim had been kidnapped and was shot once.

As honorable court has said... RAW n other foriegn agencies are responsible for missing persons.
