Four target killings in Quetta

QUETTA: Four people were killed while another four, including a policeman, sustained injuries in 3 separate incidents of firing in Quetta on Wednesday.

The police said the incidents were a case of target killings. The first attack left three dead as unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire at a vehicle near Hazar Ganji area in the outskirts of the city. The firing also injured 3 people.

Bodies of the deceased and the injured were rushed to Sandeman Hospital Quetta, where the injured were said to be in a critical condition. In another incident, unidentified gunmen shot down a person identified as Bilal Ahmad on Shiekh Umar Road. Ahmad received a single bullet on his head, which killed him instantly.

Meanwhile, a SP identified as Mullah Bakhsh was critically injured after he was attacked on Kambrani Road. Frontier Corps officials kidnapped: Unidentified armed men kidnapped two officials of the Frontier Corps from a passenger bus on Wednesday in Washuk district, 350 kilometres southwest of Quetta.

According to the FC spokesperson Murtaza Baig, the two people identified as Mazhar and Shams were on their way to Quetta from Panjgur. Both people were from Dera Ghazi Ghan and were going home for holidays. No organization has claimed the responsibility for the kidnapping of the FC officials which appears to be the first case of its nature in the restive province- with additional reporting from Muhammad Kazim.
