Twitch CEO Dan Clancy faces criticism from Asmongold over handling of Emiru assault aftermath
Asmongold questions Twitch CEO Dan Clancy’s actions following Emiru assault at TwitchCon

Twitch is facing renewed scrutiny from its community after streamers raised concerns about the company’s response to the assault of creator Emiru at TwitchCon 2025.
During a recent stream, Asmongold claimed that Twitch CEO Dan Clancy attended a post-event party on the same night as the incident.
“She’s speaking about Dan Clancy himself,” Asmongold said, referencing Emiru’s earlier remarks that key representatives were seen “out partying” following the assault.

Neither Clancy nor Twitch has commented on whether the CEO was present at the gathering. However, the platform has reiterated that the safety of attendees “remains a top priority” and confirmed that the perpetrator has been permanently banned.
Clancy later called the assault “completely unacceptable” and said Twitch was reviewing its security procedures. Meanwhile, Emiru confirmed she is pressing charges and criticized what she described as negligence and poor communication from event organizers.
The claims have fueled debate over leadership accountability and the adequacy of safety measures at large creator conventions.
