Selena Gomez reflects on motherhood after Wizards finale

Selena Gomez is embracing her maternal side both on and off screen.
After reprising her iconic role as Alex Russo in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, the 33-year-old star opened up about her dream of becoming a mom.
The show’s second season finale revealed that Alex is now a mother to Billie Russo, played by 15-year-old Janice LeAnn Brown, a twist that deeply resonated with Gomez.
“Alex Russo is a mommy,” Gomez wrote on Instagram Stories alongside a clip from the emotional scene, adding a teary-eyed emoji. “Hopefully one day that’ll be me.”

In a behind-the-scenes interview, Gomez praised her young co-star, saying, “We are mother and daughter. I really am grateful for this lovely Janice child.”
Brown echoed the sentiment, recalling how emotional the two became after the table read: “We were just puddles,” she said, as Gomez smiled and motioned fake tears.
The reunion has been a nostalgic full-circle moment for Gomez, who also recently tied the knot with music producer Benny Blanco in a romantic Santa Barbara ceremony.
Reflecting on her journey from teen wizard to newlywed, Gomez’s heartfelt wish to one day become a mother feels like the next chapter in her ever-evolving story.
