Professional dancer and Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert Hough, are expecting their first baby together.
The couple shared the joyful news on Instagram on July 22, 2025, posting a heartfelt video where Erbert Hough revealed sonogram images while the two embraced, accompanied by the caption, “We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small ♥️.”
Hough, 38, and Erbert Hough, 30, tied the knot in August 2023 in Monterey County, California, following seven years of dating. The wedding announcement came earlier that year in June when Hough spoke with Extra about his upcoming marriage before the start of their Symphony of Dance tour in September.
In interviews prior to the pregnancy announcement, the couple discussed their hopes of starting a family. In September 2024, Hough told E! News that he and his wife were excited to expand their “family dance crew” with children in the future. Erbert Hough also revealed in February 2023, during an Entertainment Tonight interview, that meeting fellow dancers Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson’s baby influenced their decision to move up family planning. “It was pretty special,” she said, while Hough recalled Chmerkovskiy’s encouragement about fatherhood being “your ultimate creation.”
The couple got engaged in June 2022 and have been open about wedding preparations, including the costs involved. In a recent Brides magazine interview, Hough admitted they were surprised by the expenses, calling it an “eye-opening experience.”
