Actor Guy Pearce has alleged that Kevin Spacey "targeted" him while filming the 1997 hit L.A. Confidential, recalling unsettling encounters that left him feeling vulnerable.
Speaking on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, Pearce, 57, became emotional while discussing his experiences with Spacey, whom he described as “charming” but also “aggressive.”
“I was sort of scared of Kevin because he’s quite an aggressive man,” Pearce said. “I was young and susceptible, and he targeted me, no question.”
While Pearce did not disclose specific details or dates, he mentioned that he had a “couple of confrontations” with Spacey that “got ugly” after the film’s release.
A representative for Spacey, 65, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Spacey has faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct since 2017, all of which he has denied. Actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of sexual assault when Rapp was 14, though Spacey was found not liable in court. Other legal cases, including a trial in the U.K., resulted in acquittals or dismissed charges.
Pearce first hinted at uncomfortable encounters with Spacey in 2018, calling him "a handsy guy," but later clarified he was not sexually assaulted. In the latest interview, he admitted he initially brushed off the experience but now acknowledges its impact.
“Even though I probably was a victim to a degree, I was certainly not a victim by any means to the extent that other people have been to sexual predators,” Pearce said.
