Shakira has been hospitalized due to an abdominal issue, forcing her to postpone her scheduled concert in Peru as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour.
The Colombian superstar, 48, shared the news with fans on X (formerly Twitter) Sunday, explaining that she had been admitted to the ER overnight and was advised by doctors not to perform.
“I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,” she wrote. “The doctors whose care I am currently under have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening.”
Expressing disappointment, the Grammy-winning artist said she was looking forward to reuniting with her Peruvian fans but remains hopeful for a quick recovery. “I am very sad about this. My team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you,” she added.
Shakira launched her tour in Rio de Janeiro on February 11 and was set to continue in Peru on Monday. She is scheduled for five performances in Colombia, including three in her hometown of Barranquilla, from February 20 to 27, before heading to Mexico on March 12.
As fans await a rescheduled date, Shakira remains optimistic about returning to the stage soon.
