Billie Eilish sends fans into frenzy after debuting new hair colour
The singer appeared with freshly lightened auburn hair while leaving a salon appointment, sparking buzz online

Billie Eilish has revealed a new auburn hair colour, marking a major transformation in recent weeks following the release of her concert film.
According to photos and video shared online on May 28, the singer appeared with freshly lightened reddish-brown hair while leaving a salon appointment.
Eilish was seen wearing a brown robe during the styling session before later changing into an Avril Lavigne tank top, baggy black shorts and trainers.

The new look features long auburn hair styled straight with a side part, a notable shift from the jet-black hairstyle she has most recently worn in public appearances. Fans quickly compared the colour to the singer’s previous red hair era in 2021.
At the time, Eilish revealed she had briefly dyed her hair ginger after transitioning from blonde to brunette. “Took the blonde out and went red for a week hehe,” she wrote on Instagram Stories alongside footage from a salon chair.

Her earlier shade appeared closer to strawberry blonde than the deeper auburn tone she now wears.
The hairstyle change follows another recent transformation during CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas on 16 April, where Eilish appeared with noticeably lighter roots while promoting her new concert film with director James Cameron.
Cameron directed and produced Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), which was released in cinemas earlier this month. The project marks Eilish’s second concert film following 2021’s Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles.
Eilish has frequently experimented with hair colour throughout her career, including cherry red roots in 2023 and her widely recognised platinum blonde and neon green styles.
