Sarah Hyland's former partner, Matt Prokop, was reportedly arrested for assaulting his girlfriend.
Victoria Police Department was called to an incident in Victoria, Texas, on May 20, following reports that the former child star’s girlfriend claimed he had assaulted her.
TMZ reported that when first responders arrived at the scene, the couple had already left.
The police located the couple an hour later in response to another disturbance call elsewhere in Victoria.
Sergeant Dailey of the Victoria Police Department informed the outlet that during their investigation, they were told that Prokop had allegedly pushed his girlfriend and forcefully hit her head against an object.
Authorities also stated that the girlfriend, who was not named, suffered injuries significant enough to justify an arrest.
Prokop, 33, known for his roles in "The Office" and children's shows such as "Hannah Montana" and "High School Musical 3," was previously involved in a restraining order case for allegedly abusing Hyland.
In September 2014, the actress from "Modern Family," also 33, requested a temporary restraining order against Prokop, claiming he choked her and made threats against her life.
As per legal records, Hyland informed authorities that "His hold was so firm that I couldn't breathe or talk. I was frightened and feared for my life."
Prokop was instructed to maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from the former host of "Love Island USA" and her dog.
Hyland has since moved on with Wells Adams, a bartender from "Bachelor in Paradise," whom she married in August 2022.
