SIALKOT:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two sub agents, Sadiq Shah from Sialkot city and Muhammad Haneef from Glotiyaan-Daska, for their alleged involvement in human trafficking. The accused had helped transport six youths to Greece, who had been killed on July 20, 2011.

Gujranwala FIA deputy director Gul Sanobar Khan told reporters that both of the accused were sub agents of village Begowala-Daska based fugitive international human traffickers Zahid Gondal and Shahid Gondal. “The Gondal brothers have already escaped to Greece but they have dozens of cases of human trafficking registered against them,” Khan said.

Authorities said Zahid and Shahid Gondalents and their agents had extorted millions of rupees from six youths belonging to Sialkot. Khan said that the youths had been sent to Greece illegally after the men were told they would be able to set up their own businesses abroad.

The youths were suffocated to death on July 20, 2011 and were identified as Bilal Ahmed, Aamir, Muhammad, Zeeqaad, Pervaiz and Muhammad Imran.

The six men had gone to Iran from Pakistan and were trying to enter illegally into Turkish Territory to reach Greece with the help of their agent.

Turkish Border Security Forces chased after the men who locked themselves in a tight container to avoid arrest and died of suffocation. The FIA has registered a case against Haneef and Shah and will present them before the court in a week.
