This project marked the first time that French archaeologists are working in collaboration with the Sindh government , he said during a meeting with French consul-general François Dall'Orso. He was accompanied by head of the French archaeological mission Dr Aurore Didier.
Excavation work is taking place from Makli to Moen Jo Daro and from Umerkot to Bhambhore. Along with the five-member French team, 10 students of Sindh University, Jamshoro, and Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, are doing research work.

Shah assured Dall'Orso that his department will extend help to the archaeologists as it is a matter of pride that the French are taking an interest. The Indus Valley Civilisation is not only an important civilisation of the region but also of profound interest for the world, especially archaeologists who always love visiting Sindh, said Dall'Orso. Sindh is the seat of wonderful civilisation, and its culture is also very diverse and peaceful.
Dr Didier shared that she has been working in Balochistan for the last 10 years and for a long time in Sindh as well.
