KARACHI:

The anti-terrorism court, hearing the Safoora bus carnage case, asked the investigators on Saturday to submit the final investigation report of the deadly attack on the Ismaili community by September 19.

At least 45 people were killed on May 13 this year when gunmen boarded their bus in Safoora and killed them in execution style.

The police had earlier submitted an interim charge-sheet in the case, which confirmed that the assailants were affiliated with the Islamic State.

Though the final investigation report was awaited on Saturday, the submission time was extended as the investigation officer cited that DNA reports of the blood samples and the forensic examination of the video camera seized from the crime scene were still not with him.

The results of the blood samples sent to a laboratory at the Liaquat University of Medical Health Sciences will be available within next two weeks, he said.
