KARACHI:

The Sindh police chief has failed to submit a report to the Sindh High Court (SHC) regarding the murder of the high court security adviser, DSP Zulfiqar Zaidi, who was shot dead along with his friend in Shah Faisal Colony on Saturday night.

An official at the Sindh High Court said that SHC chief justice Faisal Arab had taken notice of killing of the police officer, who was acting as a security adviser for the high court in Karachi. They said the chief justice had issued directives to the Karachi AIG to submit a report on the murder by Monday and ensure the arrest of his killers at the earliest. However, no such report was filed till Monday evening, the officials said.

Meanwhile, the police have drawn sketches of the three suspects involved in the targeted killing of DSP Zaidi and his friend in Shah Faisal Colony but have yet to trace the assailants.

On the other hand, the police have registered a case against four unidentified persons on the complaint of Zaidi's brother Iftikhar Hussain under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section Seven of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
