The alleged gangsters were killed during an armed clash between members of two Lyari-based gangs - the Uzair Baloch group and the Baba Ladla group - near a residential building at Jhat Pat Market, within the limits of Kalakot police station, on Saturday night.
The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital, Karachi, for autopsy where they were identified as Usman Baloch and Shan alias Shani, both reportedly associated with the Uzair Baloch group.
Tension prevailed following the clash in different parts of Lyari, with routine commercial activities also suspended.
When the Rangers and police entered the areas to calm the situation, they faced resistance, and in the ensuing exchanges of fire, two more alleged gangsters were killed.
According to the Rangers' spokesperson, the paramilitary force conducted an intelligence-driven drive to locate high-profile criminals associated with Lyari-based gangs. One such raid was conducted at the Ali Muhammad Muhalla in Baghdadi, killing a suspect, identified as Bilal of the Baba Ladla group.
Earlier, another suspected gangster was killed during an exchange of fire with the police and Rangers in Lyari. The deceased was later identified as Shoaib alias Rambo.
