KARACHI:

The 24th convocation of the Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC), a constituent of the National University of Science and Technology (Nust), was held on Friday.

The chief of naval staff, Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila, awarded degrees to 202 graduates in various sub-disciplines of engineering.

While speaking at the ceremony, the admiral congratulated the graduating students for having achieved a milestone in their careers. According to Sandila, engineering students are the future leaders of the country and will, hopefully, take it to new heights. He urged the graduating officers to prioritise their moral and ethical values while making decisions.

It is only people with strong principles who are remembered by history, he added.  He also commended the PNEC for its research in the fields of renewable energy, thermal power and manufacturing.

The college’s prinicipal, Rear Admiral Imdad Jafri, also spoke at the ceremony and highlighted the various degrees offered by the college. A number of other senior naval officers attended the ceremony.
