KARACHI:

The wave of street crime in the city shows no signs of slowing down, as ruthless robbers claimed one more life during a mugging incident in Shah Faisal Colony.

According to details, the incident took place in Green Town, where armed robbers opened fire on a citizen who resisted during a motorcycle snatching attempt, killing him on the spot.

Police, with the help of local residents, managed to apprehend one of the suspects. The arrested robber was beaten and injured by an angry mob before he was handed over to the police.

The body of the victim was shifted to Jinnah Hospital where he was identified as 30-year-old Fahad, who sustained a fatal bullet wound to the abdomen.

Police recovdered a weapon from the arrested suspect, while his accomplice managed to flee. A search operation is underway to arrest the absconding suspect. The injured suspect was also shifted to Jinnah Hospital.

Despite police claims of a decline in crime, ground realities suggest otherwise. With this incident, the total number of people killed in robberies this year has risen to 20, while dozens of others have been injured in similar incidents.
