KARACHI:

The ongoing campaign against violators of traffic rules and non-installation of government-approved number plates has been temporarily suspended in the city in view of the expected rainfall.

On the directives of Additional IG Karachi, Javed Alam Odho, the campaign has been postponed to facilitate citizens during the anticipated rainy conditions.

The Karachi Police had launched a crackdown against private, fancy, and non-approved number plates, as well as against the motorists for not wearing seat belts and helmets. However, this operation has been put on hold temporarily to prevent inconvenience to the public during the rainy spell.

A spokesperson for Karachi Police has urged citizens to utilise this time to regularise their vehicle number plates and ensure the use of only government-approved plates, so they can avoid legal action once the campaign resumes.
