Working together: SSUET to collaborate with George Mason University

Will collaborate with the George Mason University on various programmes.

The Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) will collaborate with the George Mason University on various programmes, it was announced on Sunday.


This decision was made after a senior fellow and affiliated professor, school of public policy from George Mason University, Dr Mehtab S. Karim, visited the SSUET and delivered a lecture on the ‘Role of youth in national development: examples from Karachi’.

In his lecture, he explained how the youth plays an important role in the socio-economic development and growth of a country. Pakistan has a large proportion of youth in its total population and if properly guided can be a reservoir for socio-economic development in the country, said Dr Karim.

The SSUET chancellor, Z A Nizami had a detailed discussion with Karim. Nizami informed him that the SSUET already collaborates with various universities from the US and UK and that this would be a welcome venture. The director IT, Muhammad Yahya Waliullah and the statistical bureau of the SSUET will act as coordinator in collaborative efforts.
