Widening horizons: Integrated Education Programme concludes

The government has sent a proposal to the Asian Development Bank, said Haq.

KARACHI:

The efforts made by entrepreneurs in making education accessible across the province will not go unappreciated as the government continues to support the 1,200 private schools which had participated in the Sindh Education Foundation’s (SEF) public-private initiative.

Entrepreneurs in charge of the schools were assured of this by the Sindh education minister, Pir Mazharul Haq, during a seminar on Thusday. The event marked the conclusion of the Integrated Education Learning Programme (IELP) that had remained operational for three years.

The seminar was attended by hundreds of participants, including government representatives and private school owners.

The government has sent a proposal to the Asian Development Bank and after its approval, funding will be continue to be given to all these schools, said Haq.

Even though the programme has officially been closed due to funding issues, the schools under the programme will continue to be supported and not be closed down, said Ali.
