JACOBABAD:

Five workers of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) were injured on Wednesday when unidentified men opened fire at a party gathering for the party’s district elections in Jacobabad.

Musadiq Unar, Panhal Jamali, Bux Umrani, Agal Pathan and Ali Hur Umrani were injured in firing and rushed to Civil hospital. Law and order situation in the area became tense after the attack and commercial activities were suspended.

A district leader of JSQM, Behram Lahr, claimed that members of a student wing of Pakistan Peoples Party, Peoples Students Federation (PSF), were responsible for the attack.

On the other hand, the district president of PSF, Ali Gulwani, and president of the Sindh Peoples Youth Organisation, Bahadur Moghairi, rejected the claim while condemning the incident. They said that shooting should not be used for political motives. SSP Jam Zafarullah Dharejo suspended the district in-charge of the district intelligence branch, Syed Anwar Shah, for not providing security for the polls.
