The Sindh High Court’s circuit bench in Larkana issued notices to Dadu SSP and Mehar SHO on Thursday to appear before the court on June 18.
The petition was filed by Bachal Khatoon, through her lawyer, Najaf Shah. Shah said that Khatoon’s daughter Razia, was married to Ghulam Shabbir Tevno, and had three children, nine-year-old Savera, seven-year-old Saira and five-year-old Farhan.
However, Razia died four years ago and Tevno left his children with Khatoon and told her that he could not bring them up properly. Shah added that a couple of days back, Tevno visited Khatoon and tried to take Savera with him. Tevno reportedly told Khatoon that he wanted to marry someone and was going to give Savera in an “exchange.” Shah said that Tevno was forced to leave empty-handed when neighbours heard the women’s cries and came to their rescue.
