Alex Cooper quits TikTok after feud drama takes over her feed
The podcast host said relentless online feuds pushed her to delete TikTok and step back from scrolling every night

Alex Cooper has opened up about her growing frustration with social media culture, revealing that she deleted TikTok after becoming exhausted by the constant negativity and public feuds dominating online spaces. The podcast host made the comments during the latest episode of Call Her Daddy while speaking with influencer and podcast personality Tana Mongeau.
During the discussion, the pair reflected on the pressure women face online and how social media often encourages rivalry between female creators. Cooper said she has noticed a pattern in which successful women are repeatedly pushed into competition narratives, regardless of whether genuine conflict exists.
Mongeau argued that women are often criticised for behaviours that would barely attract attention if they came from men. She pointed to examples involving leadership, confidence and assertiveness, saying women are frequently labelled negatively for qualities that are celebrated in male figures.
Cooper agreed and referenced conversations she has had with several high profile guests on Call Her Daddy, including Shonda Rhimes, Kerry Washington and Michelle Obama. She said many women recognise the same double standard and expressed disappointment that online discourse appears to be worsening rather than improving.
The conversation turned towards TikTok and short form content, with Mongeau admitting she rarely scrolls through the app anymore because of how draining the environment has become. Cooper then revealed that she had removed TikTok from her phone entirely.
Mongeau described opening the app and constantly seeing a new woman being criticised each day, alongside content encouraging insecurity and comparison. Cooper appeared to agree with those concerns and suggested that the endless cycle of commentary had become emotionally exhausting.
The remarks arrive during continued speculation surrounding Cooper’s reported fallout with influencer Alix Earle. Rumours surrounding tension between the pair first intensified after Earle’s Hot Mess podcast departed Cooper’s Unwell network in February 2025.
Interest in the alleged feud escalated again in April 2026 after Earle reposted a TikTok criticising Cooper. Cooper later responded directly on TikTok, urging Earle to speak openly rather than through reposts and indirect comments. The exchange quickly exploded across social media, with influencers, fans and brands joining the discussion.
Earle later attempted to downplay the situation during an appearance on the Today show, insisting the drama had been exaggerated and saying she wanted to focus on positivity following her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover announcement.
