'Rising fuel costs: Sindh has introduced Rs35b relief package'
.

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that due to the prevailing war-like situation in the region, the federal government had to increase petroleum prices, which has placed an additional burden on the public.
He stated that a high-level meeting chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari and the Prime Minister was held, with participation from all chief ministers, where joint decisions were made to address the situation.
Sharjeel said, the Sindh government approved a relief package worth Rs35 billion to support the public.
He explained that priority under the package has been given to small farmers. He mentioned, farmers owning less than 25 acres of land are being provided Rs1,500 per acre. The disbursement of funds has already begun through a designated bank.
The minister further said that Sindh has approximately 6.7 million registered motorcycles, and their owners will receive a monthly subsidy of Rs2,000. He added that transfer fees have been waived for those whose vehicles are not registered in their own name, encouraging them to regularise ownership.
