KARACHI:

Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Muhammad Ali Malkani, has announced the launch of a province-wide vaccination campaign to protect livestock from diseases, emphasising the principle that 'prevention is better than cure'.

He made these remarks while addressing at the inauguration of the Pre-Monsoon Vaccination Programme 2026–27 at the Government Veterinary Hospital in Landhi Cattle Colony—one of the largest cattle markets in Asia.

The minister highlighted that Karachi holds the distinction of hosting one of the world's major livestock hubs. He assured traders and farmers that the government is fully aware of challenges they are facing and will soon engage all stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions.

Commenting on the livestock sector in Punjab, he noted that while Punjab has a larger population, land area, livestock count, and budget, the Sindh government remains committed to achieving strong results despite limited resources. He stressed that this initiative goes beyond budgetary considerations and represents a broader mission to safeguard animal health and strengthen the economy.
