Pearl Abyss has responded to online claims that the studio is withholding information about how Crimson Desert performs on consoles ahead of the game’s launch on March 19 2026.

Concerns began circulating on X, formerly Twitter, after reports suggested that review copies of the game had been distributed to media outlets only on PC.

Some players questioned why codes for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S versions had not yet been provided, drawing comparisons to the release of Cyberpunk 2077, where review coverage was largely based on PC versions prior to launch.

Addressing the discussion online, Pearl Abyss’ western-facing PR representative Will Powers rejected the suggestion that the company was concealing information about the console versions.

“We’re not hiding anything, and I’m sick of having to repeat myself,” Powers said in a post on X. “I’ve repeated 100s of times that we’ll reveal things ahead of launch to give people adequate time to still preorder the game for themselves. We’re saying this openly...Let us cook? Please and thank you. /rant.”

Although footage of Crimson Desert running on consoles has appeared in trailers, longer gameplay presentations released so far have stated that the captured footage was recorded on PC.

The situation has led some players to express caution about the upcoming launch, particularly given the history of performance issues seen in other major releases.

Meanwhile, recent preview sessions with media and players have generated largely positive early impressions. A final hands-on demonstration ahead of launch focused on elements such as the open world, side quests and interactions with non-playable characters.

Previewers noted the world’s dense environments and interactive systems, including a greeting mechanic that allows players to interact with many characters across the game world. Combat mechanics and combo systems were also highlighted as areas that stood out during the demonstrations.

Some preview feedback included questions about the overall narrative impact and the complexity of certain gameplay systems. However, early impressions suggested that players were interested to see how these elements develop in the full release when the game launches later this month.
