Mark Zuckerberg has completed the purchase of a $170 million mansion in Miami’s exclusive Indian Creek community, marking the largest residential sale in Miami-Dade County, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The Meta chief executive and his wife, Priscilla Chan, inalised the transaction on Monday. The deal is reported to be among the most expensive home purchases in the United States, trailing the national record set by Ken Griffin’s roughly $238 million New York apartment acquisition in 2019.

The property is located on Indian Creek Island, a gated, man-made barrier island in Biscayne Bay often referred to as the “Billionaire Bunker”. The nearly 300-acre enclave comprises 41 waterfront residential plots and is home to prominent figures from business, sport and entertainment, including Jeff Bezos and Tom Brady.

Celebrity cosmetic surgeon Dr Aaron Rollins and his wife, estate agent Marine Rollins, are the sellers. They acquired the approximately two-acre site for more than $30 million in 2020 and subsequently designed and built the 30,000 sq ft mansion, which remains under construction.

Plans for the nine-bedroom, 15-bathroom residence include a gym, hair salon, massage room, library with a secret passageway, party room and a 1,500-gallon aquarium. External features will include a heated swimming pool, landscaped gardens, a private dock and 200 feet of waterfront.

The Miami estate adds to Zuckerberg’s property holdings in Palo Alto, Lake Tahoe and Hawaii.
