Shia LaBeouf has dismissed the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, telling a YouTuber that only "losers" with "no life" are paying attention to the scandal while he was busy "chasing ass" at Mardi Gras.

The actor made the comments during an interview with Andrew Callaghan for his Channel 5 YouTube show, just days after being arrested twice during the same New Orleans trip.

Callaghan asked LaBeouf his thoughts on the Epstein files, which had dominated news cycles for days. The response was characteristically unfiltered.

"Nah bro, I was fuckin' chasing ass on Mardi Gras, what you mean? I wasn't payin' no attention to Epstein files, nah," LaBeouf said. "This shit is beyond me bro, I don't get into this shit."

When Callaghan noted it was "the biggest news story in the world for a couple days," LaBeouf doubled down, suggesting anyone following the story has a miserable existence.

"If you got no life and you just sit in a fuckin' hole all day and not, you know, chasin' ass," LaBeouf continued. "Motherfuckers that are in the street don't give a fuck about this stupid shit."

He added that "your life sucks" and "you're a normie" if you get caught up in the Epstein drama.

The interview comes amid legal troubles for the former child star. LaBeouf was arrested in New Orleans on February 17 for simple battery following a fight during Mardi Gras. After being released, he resumed partying but was arrested again and charged with an additional misdemeanor count in connection with the same altercation.

A judge has since ordered LaBeouf to undergo substance-abuse treatment, submit to weekly drug screening, and post a $100,000 bond.

During the same interview, LaBeouf made homophobic remarks, telling Callaghan that "big gay people are scary." When asked if that made him homophobic, he replied: "If that's homophobic, then I'm that. Yeah."

LaBeouf was also drawn into a minor Epstein-related scandal when a viral TikTok video falsely claimed a woman named Anya Wick was his twin sister and that their uncle was Jeffrey Epstein. Public records confirm LaBeouf is an only child born on June 11, 1986, and Jeffrey Epstein's only known brother is Mark Epstein.

The actor has had a long-term on-and-off relationship with actress Mia Goth since 2012, with whom he shares a daughter. In 2020, musician FKA Twigs sued him for sexual battery and assault, with the lawsuit settled in July 2025.
