The family of Renee Nicole Good says they have not received any direct outreach from President Donald Trump following her fatal shooting by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent earlier this year, despite the president publicly commenting on the case.

Good, a 37-year-old Minneapolis mother, was killed on January 7 during a federal immigration operation when an ICE agent opened fire on her vehicle. The incident quickly sparked national outrage, protests, and calls for accountability, with advocacy groups and local leaders demanding an independent investigation into the use of force.

According to her relatives, however, no one from the White House, including Trump himself, has contacted them since her death. The family’s statement stands in contrast to the president’s public remarks, in which he said he “felt horribly” after learning about the shooting, while also defending the federal agent involved and criticizing Good’s conduct during the encounter.

Trump’s comments about the case have drawn significant backlash. Speaking to reporters, he described Good as “very disrespectful” toward law enforcement and suggested that she and her wife were “agitators,” claims that critics say attempt to justify the deadly force used against her.

Video footage from the incident has fueled further controversy, appearing to contradict the administration’s initial account. In the footage, Good can be seen calmly interacting with the agent moments before she is shot, raising questions about whether lethal force was warranted.

Advocacy groups and civil rights organizations have strongly condemned the killing, calling it “preventable” and warning that it reflects broader concerns about the conduct of federal immigration authorities. Demonstrations have taken place in Minneapolis and across the country, with protesters demanding charges against the officer involved and reforms to ICE’s enforcement practices.

Good’s death has also drawn attention to her family, including her wife and child, who have become central figures in the ongoing calls for justice. As investigations continue, her relatives say their focus remains on accountability and ensuring that her story is not forgotten, even as they navigate their grief without any direct acknowledgment from the president.
