Metallica has announced a new Las Vegas Sphere residency titled Life Burns Faster, set to take place in October 2026.

The eight-show run will be held at Sphere in Las Vegas on October 1 and 3, 15 and 17, 22 and 24, and 29 and 31.

The residency will continue Metallica’s “No Repeat Weekend” format, first introduced during the 2023 launch of the band’s M72 World Tour. Under this format, no songs will be repeated across each pair of Thursday and Saturday performances, offering fans unique setlists throughout the run. Two-night “No Repeat Weekend” tickets and single-night tickets are scheduled to go on sale March 6 at 10 a.m. PT.

According to the band, the Sphere residency will combine fan-favorite tracks and deeper cuts from Metallica’s catalog with the venue’s immersive technology. Sphere’s high-resolution LED display wraps around the audience, while its immersive sound system and multi-sensory 4D technology are designed to enhance the live music experience.

Drummer and co-founder Lars Ulrich referenced attending U2’s Sphere show in 2023, describing it as inspiration for Metallica to explore the venue’s potential. He noted that the residency offers an opportunity to reinvent how the band connects with audiences in a live setting.

The residency is produced by Live Nation and presented by inKind. With the combination of Metallica’s expansive catalog and Sphere’s advanced production capabilities, the Life Burns Faster shows are expected to be a major highlight on the 2026 Las Vegas concert calendar.
