Cillian Murphy made a rare public appearance with his wife, Yvonne McGuinness, at the 2026 IFTA Awards in Dublin, drawing significant attention on the red carpet.

The couple attended the annual ceremony at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre, where Murphy was among the headline names of the evening.

The IFTAs (Irish Film & Television Academy Awards) celebrate excellence in Irish film and television, and this year’s event was hosted by comedian Kevin McGahern. The ceremony is set to broadcast on RTÉ One on February 21.

Murphy, an Oscar-winning actor known globally for his acclaimed performances, posed alongside McGuinness in a rare red carpet moment for the notoriously private couple. Their joint appearance quickly became one of the most talked-about highlights of the IFTAs 2026.

The evening also featured a strong lineup of Irish and international talent, including Jessie Buckley, who is currently considered a frontrunner ahead of next month’s Academy Awards. Other notable attendees included Ciarán Hinds, Steve Coogan, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Niamh Algar, Aidan Quinn and Alison Oliver.

With major Irish stars gathering ahead of the Oscars, the 2026 IFTA Awards once again underscored Ireland’s growing influence in global cinema, while Murphy and McGuinness’ appearance added a rare personal highlight to the star-studded evening.
