Wendy Williams made a rare public appearance this week to attend the funeral of her father, Thomas Williams, following his recent death.

According to a report by TMZ, the service took place Monday, Feb. 16, near Miami, Florida. Photos published by the outlet showed Williams arriving dressed in black, wearing a T-shirt dress, boots, sunglasses and carrying a black purse. She appeared visibly emotional as she walked into the venue accompanied by family members.

Among those in attendance were her niece, Alex Finnie, and Finnie’s boyfriend, Eric Houston. Finnie had previously shared news of her grandfather’s passing in a social media tribute on Feb. 8. In her post, she described Thomas Williams as “an author, educator and keeper of historical facts,” adding that he had a lasting impact on both his family and community.

Thomas Williams died just days before what would have been his 95th birthday. Wendy Williams, 61, has not publicly commented on her father’s death.

Finnie later posted another remembrance, sharing a clip from a news segment she produced about her grandfather’s experience marching alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the March on Washington. In her caption, she reflected on the importance of preserving family history and honoring loved ones’ legacies.

The funeral appearance marks one of Williams’ few public outings in recent months as she continues efforts to end her conservatorship. Fans and supporters have expressed condolences to the family as they mourn the loss.
