Sean Kaufman praises Hudson Williams for championing Asian representation on screen
'He’s just done so much this past year for Asian people,' Kaufman said of Williams

Actor and advocate Sean Kaufman recently praised fellow actor Hudson Williams for his work representing the Asian community on screen, speaking at the recent Lunar New Year celebrations in New York, where Williams served as host alongside Bridgerton's Yerin Ha.
In a video clip from the event, Kaufman said, “I have yet to meet him, but I’m gonna meet him tonight. He’s just done so much this past year for Asian people. Like what an incredible feat he’s done for Asian men.”
Kaufman also expressed his hopes for the future: “I’d love for him to be one of a hundred. He’s special, but I’d love for Asian people to be seen a little more".
By speaking out at a cultural event and highlighting Williams’ achievements, Kaufman underscored the importance of celebrating milestones in representation while encouraging more opportunities for Asian talent in film and television.
The remarks carry additional weight given Kaufman’s rising profile, including his recent roles in the popular series Summer I Turned Pretty, which has drawn praise for its youthful storytelling, and his growing influence as a voice for diversity in entertainment.
Meanwhile, Williams has made waves for his performance in Heated Rivalry, a hit series lauded for its nuanced portrayal of LGBTQ+ and sports-centered storylines, making him a visible figure for Asian representation in mainstream media.
