Ja Rule apologises after viral Delta flight clash
Ja Rule apologised after a Delta flight clash went viral, drawing mockery from 50 Cent and fierce debate

A heated altercation involving Ja Rule aboard a commercial flight has spilled across social media, reigniting long running rivalries and prompting a public apology from the rapper. The incident unfolded on a recent Delta Air Lines flight travelling from San Francisco to New York City, where fellow rappers Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda were also passengers.
Video footage first circulated showed Ja Rule standing in the cabin before takeoff, repeatedly shouting while appearing to direct his anger towards Yayo. Another passenger could be seen placing hands on his shoulders in an attempt to calm the situation as voices were raised and expletives exchanged. The confrontation was brief but intense enough to draw the attention of cabin crew.

In the immediate aftermath, Ja Rule took to social media with a combative tone, describing the incident as amusing and boasting that he had confronted the pair directly. He later shared clips of the argument on his Instagram Stories, fuelling further attention and commentary. Uncle Murda also posted footage, including a clip in which a voice taunted Ja Rule before the argument escalated. A follow up image suggested Ja Rule left the aircraft, with Murda joking in the caption that he took his seat.
A spokesperson for Delta confirmed that two customers were spoken to following a disagreement and that one passenger was rebooked onto a later flight. No charges were reported, but the optics of the confrontation quickly became a talking point online, with clips spreading across X, Instagram and Reddit.
Two days later, Ja Rule struck a more reflective note. Sharing an image from an ABC News broadcast on Instagram, he issued a public apology, admitting he was not proud of his behaviour and acknowledging the impact of the viral video. He cited his family, fans and business partners in the statement, adding that while he stands his ground, he does not seek out conflict.
The online fallout intensified when 50 Cent weighed in. The rapper, whose feud with Ja Rule stretches back over two decades, reposted Uncle Murda’s clip to his own Instagram account, mocking Ja Rule and attracting thousands of laughing emoji reactions from followers. Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda also joined in the comments, amplifying the ridicule.
Fans and commentators have been divided, with some criticising Ja Rule for losing his temper in a public space, while others argued he was provoked and unfairly targeted.
