Forbidden Fruits trailer teases witchy comedy-horror ahead of March 27 release
The Forbidden Fruits trailer drops, teasing a witchy comedy-horror with Lili Reinhart, Victoria Pedretti, and more

The official trailer for Forbidden Fruits, a new comedy-horror film from filmmaker Meredith Alloway, has been released by Independent Film Company and Shudder ahead of its theatrical debut on March 27, 2026.
The film blends horror, dark comedy, and witchy sisterhood, featuring a star-studded cast including Lili Reinhart, Lola Tung, Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Chamberlain, and Gabrielle Union.
Forbidden Fruits follows Apple, a Free Eden mall employee who secretly runs a witchy femme cult in the store’s basement alongside fellow cult members Cherry and Fig. When new hire Pumpkin joins the team and begins questioning the group’s performative solidarity, tensions rise, forcing the coven to confront its own toxicity or face a “bloody fate,” according to the official synopsis.
Meredith Alloway co-wrote the screenplay with Lily Houghton. The film is produced by Mason Novick, Diablo Cody (Juno), Trent Hubbard, and Mary Anne Waterhouse, signaling a high-concept approach that combines humor, horror, and social commentary.
The ensemble cast brings diverse energy to the story: Reinhart anchors the group as the self-appointed leader, Tung portrays the destabilizing newcomer, and Pedretti adds intensity to the coven’s internal politics. Shipp and Union provide additional depth, while Chamberlain makes a notable acting debut in a role that promises to draw attention.
Forbidden Fruits will premiere at SXSW on March 16, 2026, before its wide theatrical release later that month, giving the film a festival platform and early audience exposure. The trailer positions the movie as a sharp, darkly humorous take on friendship, belonging, and the dangers lurking beneath seemingly perfect social facades.
