Diablo II receives first major update in 25 years with Reign of the Warlock DLC
Blizzard announces Diablo II Reign of the Warlock update featuring Rahul Kohli

Blizzard Entertainment has announced the first major update to Diablo II in 25 years, introducing new downloadable content titled Reign of the Warlock.
The DLC will launch in Diablo II: Resurrected, the remastered edition of the original 2000 release, and features actor Rahul Kohli as the voice of the new Warlock class. Kohli is known for roles in The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass and iZombie.
According to Blizzard, “the Warlock is disciplined, ominous, and incredibly knowledgeable, lingering in the shadows for years and studying secrets mortals shouldn’t know.” The update forms part of wider plans to mark the franchise’s 30th anniversary, with further announcements expected at BlizzCon in September.
Reign of the Warlock launches on Battle.net, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. The Warlock class will also appear in Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred, due for release on April 28, and in Diablo Immortal through a summer update titled Andariel Rises.
Speaking ahead of the announcement, Kohli said: “This actually just came out of the blue. I received a text message from Rod Fergusson, who said, ‘Do you not want to do Diablo?’ And I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’”
He added: “Because I also had worked with Rod previously on ‘Gears of War,’ I sort of assumed at some point ‘Diablo IV’ would come knocking, and it never did. So I sort of resented him for that. And then when that came through, and it was ‘Diablo II,’ obviously, I thought it was a typo.”
Kohli said that after reviewing the character profile, he realised it was new content for the remaster of the original game, adding: “So I was very hyped.”
