NYPD Blue alum Kim Delaney’s husband arrested after late-night dispute at Los Angeles home

Kim Delaney’s husband James Morgan was detained following noise complaints, alleged noncooperation with deputies

James Morgan, the husband of NYPD Blue alum Kim Delaney, was arrested Sunday night following an alleged verbal dispute at the couple’s Los Angeles-area residence, according to law enforcement officials.

As reported by Page Six, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded to at least three noise complaints at the couple’s apartment in Marina del Rey around 10:30 p.m. During the investigation, Morgan allegedly failed to cooperate with officers and was taken into custody.

Morgan was charged with obstructing or delaying a public officer and disturbing the peace. He was booked at the Marina del Rey Sheriff’s Station and released by Monday morning. A representative for Delaney, 64, was not immediately available to comment.

The arrest comes amid a prolonged and reportedly contentious relationship between Delaney and Morgan. According to Us Weekly, Delaney was granted a restraining order against Morgan in October, citing alleged abuse and harassment. The order barred him from approaching her homes in Marina del Rey and New Jersey or contacting her directly.

The couple, who married in 2022, have been in divorce proceedings since March 2023, with Delaney citing irreconcilable differences despite occasionally appearing publicly united.

Separately, Delaney was arrested in April of last year following allegations that she attempted to strike Morgan with her vehicle. At the time, sources told TMZ the couple had been arguing for several days before police were involved. Delaney reported Morgan for domestic violence after an alleged argument escalated into a physical confrontation.

Morgan reportedly left their shared home the night of the incident but returned the following morning. After Delaney contacted authorities, Morgan informed officers of the alleged vehicle incident and provided video evidence. Delaney was booked on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, while Morgan was charged with misdemeanor battery.

Days later, the couple appeared to reconcile, with Delaney posting a celebratory birthday message for Morgan on Instagram. However, she has not shared photos of him on social media since May 2025.
