Sesame Street Volume 2 to debut on Netflix featuring Miley Cyrus

New episodes follow Elmo, Abby and friends on imaginative adventures, with special guest Miley Cyrus

Netflix has announced that Sesame Street: Volume 2 will premiere on March 9, 2026, according to details shared by the streaming platform. The upcoming installment will include four 30-minute episodes and feature a guest appearance by Miley Cyrus.

The new volume continues to follow the Sesame Street characters as they explore themes of imagination, emotional growth and friendship, incorporating storylines involving magical dragons and flying bicycles.

The series is produced by Sesame Workshop, with Sal Perez serving as executive producer. Halcyon Person joins the show as head writer and co-executive producer. Person is an Emmy, Humanitas and NAACP Award-nominated television creator whose previous credits include serving as head writer and co-executive producer on Netflix’s Karma’s World (2021) and Dee & Friends in Oz (2024).

In the episode titled Elmo’s Toy Swap, Elmo exchanges toys with friends but struggles when he sees them being used in different ways. The story highlights lessons about creativity and flexibility. The episode also features a special appearance by Miley Cyrus during a toy swap on Sesame Street.

Another episode, Abby’s Magical Dragons, follows Abby as she cares for three musical dragons. After a mistake in their bedtime routine causes chaos, she turns to her friends for help in calming them with a lullaby.

In Elmo’s Awesome Bike, Elmo receives his first bicycle but feels envious when he sees Abby’s flying bike. The storyline focuses on managing jealousy and appreciating what one has. Meanwhile, Grover assists Cookie Monster with repairs to his cookie cart.

The fourth episode, Elmo and the Great Cookie Stack, centers on Elmo and his friends attempting to build a record-breaking cookie tower. When repeated setbacks leave Elmo discouraged, he learns to contribute to the team in a different way. A subplot features Grover attempting to photograph Bert and Ernie.

Sesame Street: Volume 2 will be available exclusively on Netflix upon its March debut.
