Feds accuse Lil Durk of $1 million murder-for-hire plot targeting Quando Rondo
Prosecutors allege Lil Durk ordered hit on Quando Rondo in 2022, but shooting killed Lul Pab instead

Federal prosecutors have accused Lil Durk of orchestrating a failed murder-for-hire plot that allegedly placed a $1 million bounty on rapper Quando Rondo in 2022, according to court filings.
The government characterizes the case as a clear-cut murder-for-hire scheme that went awry. Prosecutors allege that while the intended target was Quando Rondo, the attack instead resulted in the death of his close friend Lul Pab, who was fatally shot during an ambush in Los Angeles.
According to federal authorities, Lil Durk instructed members of his Only The Family (OTF) collective that anyone who eliminated Quando Rondo would be “made straight,” a phrase prosecutors say signaled a promise of payment. The government claims a cooperating witness is prepared to testify that this language was understood within the group as placing a price on Quando Rondo’s life.
Court filings further allege that OTF member Marcus “Muwop” Wilson and another associate took steps to recruit shooters, with Wilson purportedly offering the $1 million reward on Durk’s behalf. Prosecutors say the plan involved traveling to Los Angeles to carry out the killing.
On August 18, 2022, authorities allege that the shooters tracked Quando Rondo in the Los Angeles area and believed they had located him at a gas station in Beverly Grove, across from the Beverly Center. Prosecutors say multiple gunmen fired more than a dozen shots from a white sedan into a black Cadillac Escalade, believing Quando Rondo was inside. Lul Pab was struck and later died at a hospital. Police described the shooting as a targeted ambush from the outset.
Prosecutors also allege that after the shooting, Lil Durk followed through on his promise to reward those involved, despite the wrong person being killed. The government claims these alleged rewards included jewelry, custom grills, appearances in OTF music videos, and lyrical mentions in songs released after Lul Pab’s death. Authorities argue such benefits qualify as “anything of value” under federal law, combining financial worth with enhanced status and credibility.
The alleged plot is tied to a long-running feud that prosecutors say began in 2020, following the killing of rapper King Von outside an Atlanta hookah lounge. Quando Rondo’s associates were involved in that incident, federal authorities say, setting the stage for escalating violence between the two camps.
Lil Durk has asked the court to require prosecutors to provide more detailed information about their case ahead of trial. The government has opposed that request, arguing that the existing indictment and evidence sufficiently outline their theory and that the defense is not entitled to a preview of their trial strategy.
Lil Durk has pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains presumed innocent. His trial, originally scheduled for January, has been postponed to late April 2026 to allow additional preparation time for co-defendants.
