Adam Sandler vows to make '50 more movies and 25 of them will be good'
“A lot of people said to me, ‘Sandman, getting an AARP award means that you’re old now,’” Sandler quipped in speech

Adam Sandler delivered a mix of self‑deprecating humor and big promises after receiving the Career Achievement Award at the AARP Movies for Grownups Awards, saying he plans to keep making films for years to come.
Speaking to the crowd in Beverly Hills, the Happy Gilmore star didn’t shy away from joking about getting older while sharing his plans for the future.
“A lot of people said to me, ‘Sandman, getting an AARP award means that you’re old now,’” Sandler quipped during his speech, acknowledging his changing place in Hollywood with a laugh. “To what I say, it’s not because of this award. I’ve got 10 other reasons that you know I am fucking old.”
He then had the audience in stitches listing a handful of those reasons, including humorous observations about his body and habits. “At my high school reunion, I spent most of the night saying, ‘I’m so sorry to hear that,’” Sandler said, later adding, “None of my toenails are the same color anymore. If I take my socks off, it looks like a fucking pack of Crayola crayons.”
Sandler also poked fun at his own endurance for awards‑season screeners, noting, “When I receive the Academy Awards screeners … even though I press play on 44 different movies, I can only stay awake for a combined total of eight minutes.” He thanked his wife Jackie for her unwavering support, joking, “Thank you to my lovely wife for staying with me even though no part of my body is where it used to be.”
Looking ahead with characteristic humor and optimism, Sandler mused about the years to come. “I don’t know how much time I have left — 60, 70 years. 80 tops, maybe 90 if I start working out and taking creatine,” he said with a grin. But he also made a bold commitment to his fans and his craft: “I promise to every one of you here tonight I will make at least 50 more movies before I am dead — and at least 25 of them will be good.”
