Adele has reportedly declined an invitation to perform at the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, according to recent media reports.

The artist, who was rumored to be in talks with NFL and Roc Nation executives, declined to confirm or officially comment on the offer.

Sources indicate that after careful consideration, Adele opted out of the high-profile gig. Some reports claim concerns over security and the public climate influenced her decision, especially following recent events that raised fears about public safety. Others note that the singer had previously refused a Super Bowl performance in 2017, citing the show’s emphasis on spectacle over musical integrity.

Though discussions did circulate, no contract was confirmed, and it appears Adele elected to step away from speculation. She first declined such an offer nearly a decade ago, stating, “First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl… that show is not about music. I can’t dance or anything like that.”

With Adele out of the running, attention now turns to other potential headliners for the halftime slot—including names like Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, and Metallica. The NFL and its partner Roc Nation have not yet confirmed a replacement act.

As of now, Adele’s decision not to perform contributes another chapter to her selective approach to large-scale appearances. Fans and industry watchers await an official statement and the eventual announcement of the 2026 halftime show performer.
