Amazon Prime Video’s Gen V, the spinoff of the hit superhero series The Boys, has reentered the platform’s Top 10 streaming chart just days before the release of its second season.

The series, which first premiered in 2023, follows a new generation of young superheroes training at Godolkin University, a school controlled by Vought International.

Season 1 of Gen V was met with widespread acclaim, earning a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes — surpassing the first season of The Boys. Its cast includes Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Asa Germann and Shelley Conn. The show blends the dark satire of The Boys with a campus setting, expanding the franchise’s universe.

As of September 7, 2025, Gen V is ranked at No. 6 on the Prime Video Top 10 TV Shows chart. The only titles above it are The Summer I Turned Pretty, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, Countdown, The Runarounds, and Butterfly. The resurgence highlights a common trend in streaming: viewers revisiting earlier seasons in anticipation of new episodes.

The return of Gen V comes nearly two years after its first season concluded. Prime Video will release the first three episodes of season 2 on September 17, followed by weekly installments.

The show’s strong momentum suggests continued audience interest not only in Gen V but also in other projects within The Boys franchise, including upcoming spinoffs like Vought Rising and The Boys: Mexico.
