'The Penguin' and 'The Studio' lead with record wins at 2025 Creative Arts Emmys, Night 1

The Creative Arts Emmys 2025 honoured 'The Studio', 'The Penguin', 'Severance', 'Andor', and more with major wins.

The first night of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards 2025 saw Apple TV+’s The Studio and HBO Max’s The Penguin secure the biggest wins at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

The Studio earned nine awards, including honours for casting, production design, sound editing, music supervision and cinematography.

Close behind, The Penguin collected eight awards, celebrating achievements in hairstyling, costumes, prosthetic make-up, visual effects, sound editing, sound mixing and original score. The balance of awards highlighted technical excellence across a diverse range of productions, from animation to drama.

Among the acting winners, Julianne Nicholson received the Emmy for Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for Hacks, while Bryan Cranston won Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for The Studio. Shawn Hatosy (The Pitt) and Merritt Wever (Severance) also secured acting awards.

Netflix’s Arcane continued its critical acclaim, winning Outstanding Animated Programme alongside individual awards for design and production. Disney+’s Andor triumphed in categories including costumes, production design, picture editing and visual effects, while Bridgerton stood out with honours for period costumes and hairstyling.

Other notable wins included Rebel Ridge as TV Movie, The Boys for stunt coordination and music, and The Daily Show’s Desi Lydic in the short form category.

The Creative Arts Emmys will continue with additional awards, leading up to the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards on 14 September.
