Actress and model Karrueche Tran has given her clearest signal yet that she is in a relationship with former NFL star and current Colorado football coach Deion Sanders. Her remarks, though subtle, strongly suggested that the long-rumored romance is real.
Appearing on the What’s Next with J. Ryan podcast alongside her friend Christina Milian, Tran, 37, was asked directly about her dating life. When the host pressed her on whether she had recently “taken a liking to football,” Tran smiled and replied, “Yeah, I’m dating.” She added, “If I wasn’t having fun, I wouldn’t be in it.” Milian chimed in playfully, joking, “Touchdown!”
The comments follow months of speculation. In February, Tran and Sanders, 58, were spotted holding hands in Los Angeles. The rumors deepened in July when Sanders revealed he was undergoing surgery for bladder cancer. In a widely shared YouTube video from the hospital, Tran sat tearfully by his side, even helping explain the procedure to viewers. The moment highlighted both Sanders’ vulnerability and her close presence during his recovery.
Sanders has since been declared cancer-free and said the diagnosis gave him a new sense of perspective. “I’m a happy man that I was chosen to carry this burden so I could tell the world about it,” he told reporters.
On the podcast, Tran reflected on how her outlook on relationships has shifted. “I know what I want. If I wasn’t happy and content, I wouldn’t waste my time,” she explained, adding that she values peace and stability over appearances.
Sanders, who ended his 12-year relationship with Tracey Edmonds in 2023, has avoided commenting directly on Tran, focusing instead on his health and football program. Still, her recent words and public support during his most vulnerable moments suggest their connection is more than platonic.
