miHoYo, the studio behind Genshin Impact and the Honkai series, has officially revealed Honkai: Nexus Anima, a new creature-collector adventure strategy game. The company also announced recruitment for the “Nexus Bond Test,” which will be available on PC and iOS until September 12 through the game’s official website. The test will support English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
According to miHoYo, the game explores the concept of Nexus—unseen bonds that connect paired ideas such as Love and Hate, Light and Dark, and Life and Death. A sudden rupture severs these bonds, leaving their remnants scattered across the world as Anima.
Players will embark on a journey to forge connections with these Anima, unlocking abilities tied to the concepts they represent. These powers can be combined to create different battle strategies and influence exploration.
Players assume the role of a traveller who escapes captivity before beginning an adventure in a quiet town that gradually expands into vast unexplored realms.
Along the way, they encounter Anima companions with unique personalities, building bonds that affect both exploration and combat. In Nexus Battles, these companions fight alongside the protagonist as the story uncovers their hidden past.
As the newest major entry in the Honkai series, Honkai: Nexus Anima continues miHoYo’s tradition of high-quality storytelling and worldbuilding while introducing fresh gameplay mechanics.
The title marks a significant evolution for the franchise, combining strategic combat with a companion system designed to encourage varied playstyles.
With testing sign-ups already live, players will soon be able to experience the first stages of miHoYo’s latest addition to the Honkai universe.
