Rapper and singer Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Hill, has been charged with four felony counts following a recent arrest in Los Angeles.
According to court records from the Los Angeles Superior Court, Hill faces three counts of battery against a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. He is currently being held without bail and is scheduled for arraignment today before Judge Sarah Ellenberg in Van Nuys, where a bail decision is expected.
The arrest occurred early Thursday morning after the Los Angeles Police Department responded to multiple calls about a nude man acting erratically on Ventura Boulevard. LAPD officers confirmed to Variety that an incoherent individual was taken into custody and later hospitalized around 5:50 a.m., though the department initially did not identify Hill by name.
Entertainment outlet TMZ released footage of the artist walking the street wearing only white cowboy boots, and later shared a video showing him fully nude and rapping Nicki Minaj’s verse from the song “Monster.”
Police reported that during the arrest, Hill allegedly became physically aggressive, leading to charges of battery against multiple officers. Authorities also noted that he was transferred to a hospital under suspicion of a possible drug overdose.
In the days leading up to the incident, Lil Nas X had erased much of his content from Instagram, then posted a series of sporadic updates. These included brief music snippets and images from inside his home. One post featured the same white cowboy boots seen in the footage from his arrest.
As of now, no official statement has been released by Hill or his representatives. The case remains under investigation, and further details may emerge following today’s court proceedings.
