A set accident involving Jonathan Majors has intensified safety concerns and sparked a crew walkout

Jonathan Majors is at the center of growing controversy after a reported on-set accident and a series of safety concerns led crew members to walk off production of his upcoming action film.

The incident reportedly occurred during filming when Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne fell through a window while performing a scene. According to reports, the window had been fitted with an unsecured sheet of tempered glass intended for a later stunt, causing both actors to drop several feet to the ground.

When Deadline reached out for comment about unsafe conditions on the set, the producers said they “don’t negotiate with communists.”

Kilcoyne was said to have suffered cuts to his hands requiring stitches, while Majors’ condition has not been publicly detailed. Representatives for Kilcoyne stated he is recovering and did not feel unsafe on set.

The accident appears to have intensified existing concerns among crew members, many of whom had already raised issues about working conditions. Workers cited multiple alleged safety lapses, including falling props, lack of coordination during complex scenes, and insufficient communication from production leadership.

The situation escalated into a strike effort backed by IATSE, with a significant portion of the crew reportedly supporting unionization. The union had initially sought to secure a contract addressing wages and benefits before broader safety complaints emerged.

Producers, however, have pushed back strongly, declining to negotiate and issuing statements criticizing the strike.

Additional concerns raised by crew included working in unsafe locations, including a site reportedly affected by black mold, as well as broader claims of disorganization on set.

Despite the walkout, production is said to be continuing in some capacity, with efforts underway to replace striking workers.

The situation remains ongoing, with no official response yet from Majors’ representatives.
