Nicole Kidman has filed for residency in Portugal, according to local reports, but her husband Keith Urban’s name was noticeably absent from the official paperwork. The 58-year-old actress submitted her application to the country’s Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum, sparking speculation about why the country singer wasn’t included in the documents.
However, insiders insist there is no trouble in paradise. Urban, 57, is reportedly still touring across the United States and was simply unable to appear in person for the mandatory in-country appointment. He is expected to apply separately at a time that fits into his schedule.
The couple already own a home in Lisbon and have been frequent visitors to Portugal. Now, Kidman is reportedly eyeing a second residence within the star-favoured CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club, a luxury enclave south of Lisbon. The high-end community is also home to celebrities like George Clooney and Paris Hilton and is rumoured to be where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle purchased property.
Kidman and Urban, who married in 2006 and have two daughters, are known for their jet-setting lifestyle. Their impressive property portfolio spans multiple continents, including homes in Nashville, New York, Sydney, and a sprawling estate in New South Wales.
The timing of this move comes months after an intruder broke into their $8.4 million Beverly Hills property on Valentine’s Day while the couple were away. That incident raised concerns about their privacy and may have accelerated the decision to strengthen ties in Europe.
Despite Keith Urban’s name being absent from the residency application, representatives for the couple maintain that their primary residence will remain in Nashville, with the Portuguese residency being more about convenience and lifestyle than any personal rift.
