Netflix has announced that the first official teaser for Stranger Things Season 5 will be realeased on Wednesday, accompanied by a newly unveiled poster that sets the stage for the sci-fi drama’s final season.
The poster features the looming threat of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) in a red, stormy sky over a burning Hawkins, Indiana, as Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), and others cycle toward what appears to be their final showdown. The tagline reads: “One last adventure.”
The series, created by Matt and Ross Duffer, will conclude in three volumes, with the first four episodes debuting on November 26. Volume 2, consisting of three episodes, will arrive on December 25, and the series finale will stream on December 31.
Season 5 picks up in the fall of 1987, with Hawkins still reeling from the events of Season 4. According to Netflix’s official synopsis, the town remains under military quarantine, while Eleven has gone back into hiding. Vecna, still at large, poses an even greater threat as the Upside Down continues to merge with the real world. The characters are united by a single mission: to locate and defeat Vecna once and for all.
The final season features the return of the entire main cast, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, and Joe Keery. Newcomers include Linda Hamilton (The Terminator) as Dr. Kay.
In addition to the live-action series, Netflix has expanded the Stranger Things universe through a stage play prequel and an upcoming animated series, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, expected in 2026. The teaser release coincides with the show’s ninth anniversary, marking the beginning of the end for one of Netflix’s most iconic franchises.
