UFC commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan recently shared his thoughts on Kanye West, acknowledging the rapper’s exceptional musical talent while expressing concerns about his political beliefs. As reported by Sportskeeda, Rogan discussed West’s impact on music and his controversial actions during episode #2286 of The Joe Rogan Experience, where he was joined by former NFL star Antonio Brown.
Rogan described West as a “genius” with a unique creative mind, noting that his ability to consistently produce groundbreaking music sets him apart. He emphasized that despite West’s turbulent public image, his discography remains strong, stating, “He doesn’t have one bad album… His music is killing it.” Brown added that West maintains a rigorous work ethic, holding meetings with his staff every morning at 8 AM.
However, Rogan also criticized West’s political actions, particularly his history of controversial statements and associations. The podcaster mentioned West’s past support for Adolf Hitler and his sale of merchandise featuring fascist symbols, which resulted in his Yeezy brand being removed from Shopify. These actions, Rogan suggested, contribute to West’s declining reputation despite his continued musical success.
Rogan further expressed disappointment over West’s recent controversies, including allegations of controlling behavior toward his wife and his dismissal by talent agency 33 & West following accusations of discrimination from a former employee. While he acknowledged that West may engage in provocative behavior for attention, Rogan wished the rapper would refrain from selling offensive merchandise.
Despite West’s controversial political stance, Rogan maintained that his influence in the music industry remains significant. He concluded that while West’s creative mind is undeniable, his erratic behavior and divisive ideology continue to overshadow his artistic achievements.
